Descent Controllers

Originally designed as evacuation devices these devices lower the user to a fixed point directly below at a fixed speed of between 1.4 m/s and 2.0 m/second. Great fun to use but the landing position must be free from hazards. Certain units can be operated at an angle along a guide wire (Geronimo Lines) but again care must be taken in selection. Lifeline lengths vary from 20m up with the common lengths being no more than 60m.

Trolmatic
Inclined plane lift with manual recall (BCD)

Trolmatic is designed to evacuate on a carrier cable inclined at an angle between 30 and 60 degress. It is mainly used as a means of emergency evacuation for people working on oil derricks.
