Fall Arrest Devices

These units are in common use in many industries and are commonly known as Inertia Reels. They operate by applying a lock when the lifeline drum reaches a predefined speed.

Various types are available both standard and recovery (built in winch mechanism). Care should be taken when selecting to ensure the correct lifeline material is specified: Galvanised Wire Rope, Stainless Steel or Webbing as the environment can have serious effects.

These units must always be used with a Full Body Harness and NEVER used with a Shock Absorbing Lanyard. Lifelines range from 6m to 33m but always remember the swinging effect.
